Time Saver

Install hoists or provide anchor points for lifting equipment at need locations, such as gearboxes, motors etc.. This will save time and costs in an emergency situation. Installing and improvising rigging during an equipment break-down is expensive and can be unsafe.

Equipment Labels

Keep records of equipment components; note the location and/or the equipment number; include the information found on the equipment tag or label (motor, gearboxes, mechanical overloads, etc.). Equipment labels can fall off; will be covered by paint or are not easy viewable.

Gearboxes - Oil Change

Use colours!!!
Colour code oil barrels and containers,
use the same colour code on gearboxes to identify the oil used.
This helps to avoid mistakes when filling and reduces time needed on PMs looking for the oil type.

Oil Samples

Take picture of the oil sample and compare it with the picture of the last sample; before sending it out for testing.
